Ellen Degeneres is to be the next spokeswoman for one of America's leading cosmetic companies, reports say.
The New York Post revealed that lesbian Ellen will shoot an advertising campaign for the budget makeup line this week.
Degeneres already has a lucrative endorsement deal with American Express, and as a Cover Girl 'face' she will reportedly receive earnings in excess of $1 million. She will join a raft of beauties who have previously backed the brand, including Christie Brinkley, Halle Berry and Rihanna.
The 50-year-old star recently wed her partner Portia De Rossi in California last month, more than ten years after she appeared on the cover of Time magazine with the bold headline, "Yep, I'm gay."
She may be viewed as a controversial choice for the somewhat conservative Cover Girl; however, Degeneres is widely acknowledged as a strong role model and this may have influenced the brand's decision.
