The world's most expensive shirt
By: Peter Currie

Eton shirt

It’s stylish, it’s classic, it’s superbly tailored - and it will set you back at least £23,000.

To celebrate their eightieth birthday, luxury shirt specialists, Eton, have just launched “the world’s most expensive shirt”.

The ultra-glamorous evening shirt is woven from the finest and rarest Egyptian cotton yarn which was hand chosen by Eton’s Creative Director Jan Borghardt. He comments: “I handle high-end quality textiles on a daily basis but I have never before felt a fabric like this one.”

The seven coloured diamonds adorning the shirt studs and cufflinks form the shirt’s most striking aspect.

The five-diamond dress stud consists of multi-coloured diamonds, while the cufflinks each have one white diamond set in white with black enamel borders.

The shirt is valued at £23,000 and will commence a worldwide tour of Eton’s international stores including London, Milan, Los Angeles and Stockholm before being auctioned for charity in Spring 2009.
