Ditto designs launched

Beth Ditto
Lesbian singer Beth Ditto's new fashion collection is launched today
The outspoken lead singer of indie band The Gossip has designed a range of clothing for the high street chain, Evans, who specialise in 'plus-size' clothes.
Beth Ditto has long been a spokesperson for larger-sized women, and remains scornful of the size-zero mentality of much of the fashion business.
'Designing this line is a dream come true,” she told fashionistas this week. ‘I wanted to make something special just for us, something never seen before.
I hope the clothes inspire you to think outside the box. After all, boxes are square and in more ways than one we are not.’
Ditto, who is a size 22, says that her inspiration for her designs comes from a variety of sources including Grave Jones, Mama Cass of the Mamas and the Papas, and the Bauhaus and Art Deco movements.
The range comes in a wide variety of colours and styles, including prom dresses, pencil skirts, and bikers’ jackets.
The collection is available in sizes 14 to 32, and is affordable with no one item retailing for more than £65.
