The Met remains resolute in tackling hate crime
There are currently more than 210 LGBT Liaison Officers in the MPS dedicated to improving the service provided to LGBT people. Working with LGBT focused organisations, local partners and statutory groups, liaison officers advise and support their MPS colleagues to improve the investigation of homophobic and transphobic hate crime.

DCI Campbell said “The Met remains resolute in its commitment to tackling hate crime in all its forms, including homophobic and transphobic crime. We’re also committed to working in effective partnership with victims, LGBT organisations and other partners in improving services to, and supporting victims & witnesses, whilst challenging perpetrators”
He went on to say “I want to actively encourage victims of all hate crimes to come forward and report them to police. All forms of hate crime will be treated and investigated seriously. I need to ensure that victims are supported and that they access the services they need”.
