Olympic torch gets rocky reception in London

Peter Tatchell of OutRage! ambushes the Olympic torch on its London leg
"The police wrestled the veteran campaigner to the ground"
Human Rights campaigner Peter Tatchell caused disruption to the London leg of the Olympic flame on Sunday by running in front of the bus carrying the Olympic flame and its entourage.
Holding up a placard which read: "Free Tibet, Free Hu Jia," Mr Tachell shouted the same words as he ran along in front of the bus.
The police wrestled the veteran campaigner to the ground, which delayed the convoy briefly while he was removed to the pavement. He was later released without charge after questioning.
"Hu Jia was jailed for three and half years last week for campaigning for free speech, Tibetan autonomy, environmental protection, and for the human rights of the rural poor and people with HIV," said Mr Tatchell.
"He exposed the Chinese government's cover up of the use of HIV contaminated blood, the lack of support and care for people with HIV, and he challenged social prejudice and discrimination against people with the virus."
The torch has since moved to Paris where protesters caused further disruption as they showed their support of a free Tibet and anger against the Chinese government's human rights record. Unrest is now set to reach San Francisco, the torch's only US relay ahead of it's 21-nation tour, amid further fears of continued disruption.
