AIM HGH uses inspirational stories
20 gay stars join forces for AIM HIGH
AIM HIGH, is the Manchester-based Lesbian & Gay Foundation's guide for LGB youth.
It uses inspirational stories, advice, guidance and encouragement from 20 high-profile LGB role models to show that sexual orientation should not get in the way of success in the workplace or achievement in life.
They include sports personalities Gareth Thomas and John Amaechi, actors Sir Ian McKellen and Antony Cotton, pop icon Beth Ditto, television entrepreneur Russell T Davies and politicians Angela Eagle and Margot James.
Sir Ian McKellen said: "It is essential to talk to 12 and 13 year olds because they absorb what's thrown at them, whether it be homophobia or tolerance - and we have to make sure it's the positive stuff."
