McDonald's target gay audience
The French ad is the latest in a series called “Venez Comme Vous Êtes” – “Come As You Are” – and is designed to show that the fast food chain is for everyone.
In it a teenage boy in a McDonald's restaurant looks fondly at a class photo of his boyfriend and phones him to tell him he misses him.
He hangs up when his father returns with a tray of burgers.
The father, unaware that his son is gay, says, “Too bad your class is all boys – you could have all the girls.”
The boy responds with a knowing and amused smile, before the ad fades out with the words “Come As You Are”
The subtitled version of the commercial has already gained 370,000 hits on YouTube.
