Pride season well under way
Following the great success of Blackpool Pride, and Birmingham Pride earlier last month, the Pride season is now well under way.
Birmingham Pride alone pulled in 100,000 revellers, and there are at least another forty Prides lined up for the summer.
This weekend it’s the turn of Oxford Pride and Torbay Pride in Torquay to provide the entertainment.
“2010: A Proud Odyssey” is the theme of Oxford Pride so expect an out-of-this-world parade through the streets of the University town before heading off to Oxpens Fields for a fun-filled day for all the family.
The Unison stage will feature top performers such as Rozalla (“Everybody’s Free”) and Kelly Wilde, and there will be dozens of market stalls as well as a fun fair.

Meanwhile down on the Rainbow Riviera in Torquay, Pride Torbay will be playing host to an outrageous weekend packed with a dozen diverse events.
Saturday morning kicks off with a Pink Boot Sale at the Rainbow Café, followed by Cirque du so Gay on Torre Abbey Meadows which is being billed as the “Campest Show on Earth”.
The specially developed show will incredible international circus acts with live tribute acts, amazing singers, an outrageous ring master and some incredibly colourful dancers.
The fun continues into the evening, when the circus will be converted into a stunning club venue, for one of the biggest LGBT parties ever held in the southwest. The Big Bang will feature the UK’s leading Lady Gaga tribute and there’ll be an incredible firework display at 10pm.
Add to that a football tournament, a historical Walk With Pride, a boat trip, a gay picnic and garden party, and a fantastic cabaret street party with Hazell Dean and Nicki French and there will be something for everyone at this year’s Pride Torbay,
