Gay Pride News: Sir Ian McKellen will be the official Grand Marshal for this year's Manchester Pride Parade.

Sir Ian McKellen to lead Pride Parade
The award-winning actor, star of Lord of the Rings and gay rights campaigner will lead the twentieth annual Pride Parade in Manchester on Saturday 28 August.
The Grand Marshal is a distinguished individual honoured with heading the parade. Last year’s Grand Marshal was human rights campaigner, Peter Tatchell.
Jackie Crozier, festival director of Manchester Pride, said: “Every Parade needs a Grand Marshal and I’m absolutely delighted that we have the wonderful Sir Ian McKellen leading the way.
“The Parade always attracts a huge crowd so I would advise everyone to get there early to avoid disappointment.”
