Rapper 50 Cent in homophobia row

The tweet was directed at gay celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and read:
“Perez Hilton calld me douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. Wasn’t his but still made me feel better.”
The post was accompanied by a photo of two men in suits running away from an angry mob.
GLAAD has urged people to tweet 50 Cent and demand that he apologises.
GLAAD spokesman Rich Ferraro told the New York Times: “It’s wrong to make jokes and promote violence against the gay community.
“Raking the post down is not enough. We wanted him to tell his Twitter followers that what he did was wrong.”
This isn’t the first time that the rapper has made his feelings known about gay people.

In a 2004 interview with Playboy magazine he said: “I ain’t into faggots. I don’t like gay people around me, because I’m not comfortable what their thoughts are. I’d rather hang out with a straight dude. But women who like women, that’s cool.”
