Killer Prince "not gay"

 7 October 2010

Prince Saud Bin Abdulaziz Bin Nasir Al Saud is charged with murdering  his servant Bandar Abdulaziz in what has been described as a sexually motivated attack in London’s Landmark Hotel on 15 February.

The Prince has admitted to the killing but not to murder.

However, he denies being gay, despite the fact that the two men shared a hotel suite in the five-star hotel.

The Prince’s defence, John Kelsey-Fry QC, insisted that contrary to allegations the two men were not in a sexual relationship.

“It is not accepted that this is a gay couple,” he told the court.

However, Pablo Silva, a Brazilian escort, claimed in court that he had visited the Prince in early February and had sexual contact with him. He was paid in crisp £50 notes.

“I asked him whether he wanted a massage and I think I asked him to remove something which he had on so that I should be able to do the massage,” he told the court.

“I took off my shirt and my trousers to cause a little more provocation to my client. I did the massage and in a short while I was free to leave.”

The Prince’s sexuality has also been questioned by members of the hotel staff who assumed he and Bandar Abdulaziz were gay.

“I would describe them as a gay couple,” Dimitrov Dobromir, a porter at the hotel, told the court, and said that the two men’s clothes were colour co-ordinated on their hangers.

“I do not think heterosexual men would have given such importance to hanging their pants,” he said.

“I am gay and I have a big feeling as who is gay and who is not.”

The court were earlier shown CCTV footage of the Prince hitting his servant in the hotel lift.

The trial continues.
