Gay News: Gok Wan has revealed that he was severely bullied at school because he was gay and fat.

Gok Wan was bullied for being gay
Speaking to the Sun newspaper to promote his autobiography, the presenter of How To Look Good Naked said that the homophobia he had experience at secondary school made him stronger.
“I still bear the emotional scars,” he said. “But without the jibes and hate I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I am able to recognise my individuality as uniqueness and not flaws.
“As I’ve grown older I’ve become a lot more comfortable with my sexuality. But when I was younger it terrified me.”
When he was seventeen, he was attacked in the street by a gang of boys and threatened with a knife, and for years afterwards was afraid of being beaten up whenever he went out,
Writing his autobiography has allowed him to celebrate his sexuality, he said, adding that when he was younger he felt like an outsider for being gay.
He also reveals that while studying at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama he weighed 21 stones.
