Pair guilty of homophobic killing

The 62 year old civil servant was attacked in the centre of London in September 2009, and died from his injuries eighteen days later
 
Joel Alexander, 20, and Ruby Thomas, 18, subjected him to homophobic abuse before punching him and kicking his head and stamping on his chest as he lay on the ground.
 
Alexander and Thomas who are from south-east London had denied manslaughter.
 
A third defendant, Rachel Burke, 18, also of south-east London, had been found guilty of affray at an earlier trial.
 
Alexander and Thomas will be sentenced in the New Year.
