Gay News: A website has accused "poofters and lesbians" of being responsible for the earthquake in Christchurch, which it describes as Gods warning

Gays caused NZ quake, claims website

The website, christchurchquake.net, which is registered in the USA to an address in Utah, said that the earthquake was an act of God.
Speaking of the earlier quake in September last year the website said: “[The quake] struck the “murder capital of NZ” before dawn on the opening of poofter and lesbian week. The quake was a warning from God – ‘Desist from your evil. From your violence, and from your perversion.’”
It goes on to say:”The God who once nuked Sodom has every right to be offended. Is it a surprise that He hit the island with its biggest earthquakes ever – on the morning the perverts began their “Gay Ski Week”? The “buglies” (butch uglies” and the poofs will claim it is just a coincidence – but despite their shrieking and bullying, they can’t PROVE it was only a coincidence.”
The site claims that the earlier “warning” had not been heeded, which led directly to the 6.3 magnitude earthquake on 22 February which has devastated the South Island city and currently claimed at least 98 lives.
Jay Bennie of the website GayNZ.com told the Sydney Morning Herald that the comments were “despicable”.
“I think it’s appallingly insensitive, not only to gays and lesbians, but to the suggestion that the people of Christchurch, by embracing gays and lesbians to certain degrees in their society, have brought this on themselves,” he said.
The senior minister of Auckland’s Victory Community Church has also been reported as sending a message to New Zealand MPs, saying that legal recognition of same-sex unions is one of the factors contributing to this and similar disasters.
“New Zealand cannot go on murdering unborn children, undermining the God-given authority of parents to discipline their children, legalising prostitution, homosexual unions (in kin d to marriage,” he said. “Stop doing these things or something worse will come upon you all.”
