Gay archive moves to new home

The collection of 200,000 press cuttings from the non-gay press about all aspects of LGBT life is now to be found at the Bishopsgate Institute in Spitalfields, London.

The collection covers a wide variety of gay life from the nineteenth centiry to the present day, includng the recommendations of the Wolfenden Report, the controversy surrounding Section 28, and the coming out of Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street.

Its reference department also holds 2,000 fiction and non-fiction gay titles, as well as the full runs of Gay News and Gay Times and a comprehensive photographic selection,

There is also a selection of badges, banners and T shirts from various LGBT campaigns.

LAGNA is at the Bishopsgate Institute 230 Bishopsgate London EC2M 4QH and is open to the general public from 10am to 5.30pm Mondaty to Friday, and to 8pm on Wednesdays.
