Surrey Police investigate homophobic chase

"When one of the vehicles left the car park the four cars took chase and followed it down the A3 southbound. They attempted to block the car in at high speed."

Police in Guildford, Surrey, are investigating an incident early on Saturday the 3rd of May, where a car was chased down the A3 and blocked in by four other cars.

The four vehicles drove into the car park at Ockham Bites, a spot known for cruising. They then drove around flashing their headlamps and shouting at the other cars parked there.

When one of the vehicles left the car park the four cars took chase and followed it down the A3 southbound. They attempted to block the car in at high speed. The chased car managed to break away and the victim then contacted police in Guildford.

The pursuers are decribed as white youths, both male and female.

Police are appealling to anyone who was in the area and may have information to contact them.

Sergeant Simon Berger said: "We would like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or witnessed the incident with the cars on the A3 to contact Surrey Police. All calls will be handled in the strictest of confidence."

A similar incident in the same car park occured three days later, in which a car drove round Ockham Bites hurling abuse at the other cars

parked there.
