Homophobic killer sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a gay flight attendant

"He had confessed to a reporter that he was “anointed and appointed by God” to kill the homosexual Cummings because “sexual perversion” is “the worst sin.”"

A Texan jury last night found Terry Mark Magnum of Cypress, Texas guilty of murdering a gay flight attendant and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Mr. Magnum, who had been released from prison only three weeks earlier, met his victim Kenneth Cummings at a bar in Houston on 4th July, 2007.

The pair returned to Cummings’ home, where later Magnum slit his throat and stabbed him in the back of the head. The jury heard that Magnum cleaned up the house the next morning and buried the body at a ranch in nearby Poteet.

Two weeks later the body was found and investigators found that Cummings’ credit card had been used on tools purchased by Magnum to dispose of the body.

At the end of the week-long hearing the 46 year old Magnum pleaded not guilty due to insanity. However he had confessed to a reporter from the The Facts, a Brazoria County newspaper that he was “anointed and appointed by God” to kill the homosexual Cummings because “sexual perversion” is “the worst sin.”

Despite his insanity plea Terry Mark Magnum got life for the murder. He had previously served five years in prison for burglary.
