Sarah Palin branded a ‘media-obsessed homophobe’

Lohan and 'partner' Ronson label Sarah Palin a ‘media-obsessed homophobe’

"The pair, who have been close friends for a number of years not only attacked Sarah Palin’s views on sexuality, but questioned the motives behind her vice-presential candidacy."

Sarah Palin, the Republican party vice-presidential nominee in the U.S. presidential election, has been criticised by actress Lindsay Lohan and the woman widely regarded to be her girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson.

The pair issued a joint statement online via their Mysace pages criticising the politician for her claims to want to ‘save and convert gays.’

The couple's statement asked: "Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?

"Is our country so divided that the Republicans' best hope is a narrow-minded, media-obsessed homophobe?"

The pair, who have been close friends for a number of years not only attacked Sarah Palin’s views on sexuality, but questioned the motives behind her vice-presential candidacy.

"I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States only four years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor, which is probably all she is qualified to be."

The duo are just the latest public figures to criticise Palin. Pamela Anderson recently told John McCain’s running mate - who is opposed to gay marriage and abortion - to "suck it".

Linsday Lohan and Samantha Ronson, sister of producer Mark Ronson have been romantically linked since Lohan’s stint in rehab. In July the actress issued a statement allegedly alluding to her relationship with Ronson:

"I just wanna live a happy healthy year, continue on the path that I've been on and be with the person I care about. And my family."

However, in the past her publicist has strenuously denied that the couple’s relationship is anything but plutonic.
