Jeans giant Levi-Strauss has come out in favour of same-sex marriage in California.
The clothing manufacturer, which is based in San Francisco, has pledged $25,000 to Equality For All, which is opposed to Proposition 8.
The Proposition seeks to amend the Californian constitution and remove the right of same-sex couples to marry.
Levi’s join high-profile celebrities like Steven Spielberg and Brad Pitt who have also donated money to the campaign.
Levi’s Chief Executive Officer John Anderson said that the move was consistent with the company’s long history of supporting civil rights causes.
