New Year Honours for Terrence Higgins Trust and Stonewall
By: Nigel Robinson

Nick Partridge of the Terrence Higgins Trust has been made a knight in the New Year's Honours Lits

Two leading campaigners have been recognised in the New Year’s Honours List.

Nick Partridge, Chief Executive of the Terrence Higgins Trust, has been created a knight for services to health care.

Sir Nick, who was awarded an OBE in 1999, has been working for the Terrence Higgins Trust since 1985.

The Trust was first set up in 1982 to help prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS, following the death from AIDS-related illness of Terry Higgins.

Since then it has furthered  its remit to increase public awareness not just of HIV and AIDS but of all sexual health matters.

Also named in the New Year’s Honours List is Ben Summerskill, Chief Executive of Stonewall and former editor of the Pink Paper. He has been awarded an OBE for services to equality and diversity.

Stonewall has been campaigning for LGBT rights and equality since 1989.
