Six gay men have been killed in Iraq in two separate incidents
Two gay men were found shot dead in the Sadr City area of Baghdad on Thursday. Police suspect that they were killed by family members who were ashamed of their behaviour.
An official said that they were killed after a tribal meeting was held and the decision was taken to hunt down the two men.
The murder follows the recent discovery of a further four bodies buried near Sadr City. The words pervert and puppies had been written on their chests. Puppy is an insulting term for a gay man in Sadr City.
CNN also reports that a café in Sadr City which was a popular gay meeting was also set on fire.
