Britney Spears speaks out in favour of gay marriage
Britney Spears has spoken out in favour of gay marriage.
This follows a row after Carrie Prejean, a beauty queen in the recent Miss USA contest, was asked for her views on same-sex unions by celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton.
Ms Prejean said that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. Her statement is widely thought to have lost her the title. Perez Hilton later called her a “dumb bitch”.
Britney has joined in the debate on her Twitter page, saying: “Love is love! People should be able to do what makes them happy!”
Teen star, Miley, a devout Christian, has also tweeted in favour of gay marriage. She said:
“Jesus loves you AND your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! thats like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz hes gay and that is WRONG and very sad! like i said everyone deserves to be happy.”
