UK Muslims say no to homosexuality

British Muslims have zero tolerance of homosexuality
That is the finding of a Gallup poll which interviewed Muslims and non-Muslims in the UK, France and Germany.
Not one of the 1,0001 British Muslims quizzed believed homosexual acts to be morally acceptable.
This was compared to 35 per cent of French Muslims who accepted homosexuality.
In the wider population at large, 78 per cent of the French public thought being gay was acceptable, compared to 68 per cent of Germans and 58 per cent of Britons.
The poll, The Gallup Coexist Index 2009: A Global Study of Interfaith Relations, also examined attitudes to other moral issues, such as abortion, viewing pornography, suicide and sex outside marriage.
British Muslims also proved themselves to be far more conservative on these matters than French and German Muslims, with France having the most liberal attitudes of those interviewed.
Sex between an unmarried man and woman was believed to be moral by only 3 per cent of British Muslims, who were also least likely to regard viewing or reading pornography as acceptable.
The survey concluded that the divide between Muslims and westerners lies more in sexual liberalisation and gender issues rather than democracy and governance.
