Royal family request private screening of Bruno

The Sun today revealed that the royal family has requested a private screening of Bruno. Universal Studios, the producer of Sacha Baron Cohen's outrageous movie, said it had received an official email from Buckingham Palace requesting a copy, which the Sun believes will be shown at Balmoral this weekend - where the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are scheduled to stay.

The Sun's source at Universal said: "We often get emails from important people requesting prints for private screenings. But when we realised it was for the royals there were a few chuckles. It isn't for the faint-hearted."

What has sparked the royal family's interest can only be guessed at, although Baron Cohen famously premiered his movie in London by dressing up as a guardsman (who protect the sovereign) complete with bearskin, along with twenty similarly-attired but otherwise scantily-clad male dancers. There is of course the teutonic connection: Bruno speaks in a heavily German-accented attempt at English.
