Rapper-turned-actress "sashayed with five stunning women"

Queen Latifah spotted at NY lesbian club
Queen Latifah, whose sexual orientation has been the subject of speculation for years, was spotted at a Wednesday lesbian night called Eden held at Country Club in New York City. The weekly party is a major draw for the city's lesbian in-crowd and it seems to be a favourite of Latifah's as this was the second time she'd been seen there.
The New York Post's spy watched the rapper-turned-actress as she "sashayed with five stunning women" and "chilled for several hours, ordering bottle service for her friends and chatting up promoter Maggie Collier". Latifah's new album Persona was released last week and she was apparently relaxing in the club after shooting her new film, Just Wright.
Latifah has always either denied being gay or declined to discuss her sexuality. "My personal life is personal and it's really not for everyone else," she told June's Essence magazine. "With what I do for a living, I have to share a lot of myself with a lot of people, but I'm not going to share everything. They want to make up stories and make me gay all the time and it's like 'keep running with it'. I've definitely been annoyed by it, but I learned a long time ago that it was pointless to say anything. Everybody else can do the reading; I'll do the living."
Prior to the release of the film The Secret Life of Bees, she spoke to the New York Times' Alex Witchel. "I don't care if people think I'm gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway. I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life. You don't get that part of me. Sorry."
