Sam Fox announces civil partnership
80s tabloid pin-up and pop star Samantha Fox has revealed her plans for a civil partnership with her girlfriend and manager Myra Stratton, to whom she recently became engaged. The ceremony would be in England, but as Stratton told OK! magazine: "We thought we might have a party somewhere very cold. We want huskies and reindeer. We might get married here and have the do in Siberia."
Siberia may not be the only surprising aspect of the do, as Fox revealed: "I'll tell you who's definitely coming - Lemmy from Motorhead. We might get him to give me away, and we might get Liz Mitchell of Boney M to do the ceremony - she's a pastor now."
Fox had been linked to a series of men, one of them notorious Australian conman Peter Forster when in 2003 she came out as a lesbian and declared her love for Stratton. They have now been a couple for ten years, appearing on Celebrity Wife Swap together in 2008.
Fox also revealed to OK! that she would relent and agree to appear on EastEnders after being pursued by the soap for 26 years. "I've been asked to go on EastEnders since I was 17. First I was asked to be Sharon's sister, then I was asked to be Peggy's daughter, then I was going to be Nick Cotton's gangster moll wife. I quite fancied that last one. I'll definitely do it one day when the time's right."
