BBC DJ died of drugs overdose following gay bondage session
""Further investigation found him to have died of 'drug toxicity' or an overdose""
Radio One breakfast DJ Kevin Greening has been found by a coroner to have died of "misadventure" after taking illegal drugs and indulging in "unorthodox sexual behaviour involving restraints".
The DJ was found dead at his south London home on the eve of his 45th birthday, 29th December last year. Initial tests failed to reveal the extent of the narcotics Greening had been taken though further investigation found him to have died of "drug toxicity" or an overdose.
Greening was one of the highest profile gay men working at Radio One at a time when the station was coming under increasing criticism for its casual attitude to its presenters' homophobia. He had presented the station's flagship breakfast show with Zoe Ball in the late 90s and had helped launch Virgin Radio in the early 90s.
According to his agent, he had died "peacefully in his sleep" even though a 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with his death and later cautioned for possession of illegal drugs.
