Indiana Jones star forced to apologise for "homophobic" video footage

"He regrets having used the word in any capacity and is very embarrassed that this footage is being seen by anyone"

Transformers and Indiana Jones star Shia LeBoeuf has been forced to issue an apology via his publicist after video footage of him taunting a friend with the word "faggot" surfaced on the internet. In the footage, LeBoeuf, one of Hollywood's most promising new stars, is seen trying to get a friend to slap his face by calling him a "faggot".

"The videotape that is circulating is several years old and captures Shia playing a game among friends in which he uses a derogatory word toward a friend," said the statement. "He regrets having used the word in any capacity and is very embarrassed that this footage is being seen by anyone."

The incident comes in the wake of an apology from drugs-wrecked singer Amy Winehouse for a home video shot by her husband where she performs children's ditty "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" with those words replaced by a string of racial insults as well as a jibe at "gays". The singer came to her door to say that she was sorry for the video, which she didn't realise had been shot.

It seems that in the world of YouTube, there is no hiding your homophobia behind closed doors, no matter who you are.
