Raindogs - part of the MAD Fringe Festival this August

Theatre will be going MAD to make a difference at the Trafalgar Studios in London this August.

The Make A Difference Fringe is a fundraising theatre spectacular packed full of cabaret, comedy, theatre and music events.

TheatreMAD will be presenting an eclectic programme of entertainment, including an evening of MAD comedy talent, performances by innovative new theatre companies, and a modern theatre classic.

There will also be interviews with some of the most respected names in British theatre, a cabaret celebrating the music of the 1920s, a brand new musical and the launch of a new girl act.

The week-long Festival has been organised by theatre charity, TheatreMAD. This group of volunteers draws upon the talents, resources and generosity of the British theatre community to produce exciting events to raise money and awareness to help people affected by HIV and AIDS

Highlights of the event include Raindogs, a new musical set in downtown Manhattan in the counter-culture 60s, a conversation between theatre critic Michael Billington and Dame Eileen Atkins, a puppet opera based on Kipling’s The Elephant’s Child, and The Show Girls, a rollicking showbiz story bringing burlesque back to town.

There will also be a special charity performance of Neil LaBute’s supersized smash, Fat Pig.

The TheatreMAD Make A Difference Fringe runs from 18th to 23rd August.
