Tom comes to town
Tom of Finland Retrospective, Liverpool
A showcase of the work of gay artist Tom of Finland is to open in Liverpool.
As part of the city’s annual Homotopia arts season, the exhibition will be a major retrospective of the drawings of the legendary and influential gay artist. Eighty-eight works on paper from 1944-1989 will be on show.
The exhibition will also include twenty-five of the artist’s most iconic works, each one representing one of the twenty-five years the Tom of Finland Foundation has been at the helm of preserving, protecting and promoting the erotic arts.
The Tom of Finland Retrospective is at the Contemporary Urban Centre, Greenland Street (off Parliament Street), Liverpool L1, from September 20th until November 30th, Tuesday – Saturday 10 am until 5pm
Homotopia 2008 will be held in Liverpool throughout November
