George Michael is arrested in a public toilet for drug offences

Singer George Michael was arrested on Friday for allegedly possessing Class A and Class C drugs. Caught in a public toilet in Hampstead, the 45-year-old singer’s behaviour apparently roused the suspicion of a toilet attendant, who called the police.
He was taken to a North London police station and held for five hours before being released with a caution. He has since issued a statement apologising for 'screwing up again' and he promised to 'sort myself out'.
No stranger to controversy, the multi-millionaire pop star has been cautioned twice in the past for possessing cannabis.
He has discussed his drug use openly. The British pop star was filmed smoking marijuana for The South Bank Show and on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs last year, he said: "I'm a happy man and I can afford my marijuana so that's not a problem."
In January publisher HarperCollins revealed that they had secured the rights to George Michael’s autobiography, which is due for release in Autumn 2009.
