American LGBT group received one million You Tube hits

Human Rights Campaign (HRC), one of America’s largest LGBT civil rights organizations have produced videos which have been viewed over one mill

Take Action Against Hate Crimes has proven to be one of the most popular videos having been viewed more than 450,000 times. The video won the 2007 Progressive Source Award for Best Call to Action.

HRC’s YouTube channel hosts 68 videos covering a variety of topics about LGBT issues and equality rights. The topics cover everything from workplace discrimination to failed military practice. The first clip was posted in September 2006.

"Each of these one million views represents one mind changed or one person activated to make a difference," said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese, he said in an interview with Pink News.

"This election year holds enormous opportunities to make gains for GLBT Americans and we'll continue to use these new media tools to activate and educate."
