There are plenty of new gigs and extra dates to tell you about this week.

Leonard Cohen leads the way with a Royal Albert Hall date on sale 9am Friday 3rd October, at which time Simply Red's Greatest Hits Tour and Kaiser Chief’s  London, Manchester and Sheffield dates will also go on sale.

Available to book now are Mercury Prize winners Elbow with a Wembley Arena date, while Russell Brand has added extra dates to his hot-selling UK tour.

DIirty Pretty Things have today announced they are splitting up, so don't miss their last ever live dates which are coming up over the next couple of weeks.

LEONARD COHEN

Royal Albert Hall date added, on sale Friday 3rd October 9am. Leonard Cohen's work often explores the themes of religion, isolation, and complex interpersonal relationships. His music has become highly influential to other singer-songwriters, and more than a thousand cover versions of his works have been recorded. He has added an extra show to his tour at the Royal Albert Hall.

KAISER CHIEFS

London, Manchester and Sheffield dates on sale Friday 3rd October 9am. As seen on last week's "Later With Jools Holland", the Leeds based quintet are releasing their third album later this month. Kaiser Chiefs are leading the way for British indie rock, with their catchy first single "Never Miss a Beat" from the album getting huge amounts of radio play and praise for producer Mark Ronson.

ELBOW

Wembley Arena date on sale now. 2008 Mercury Prize winners Elbow are gritty and romantic, creating emotional guitar based music. Aside from the Mercury Prize for "The Seldom Seen Kid", they have generated vast critical acclaim from fans and fellow artists - being endorsed by the likes of Blur, U2 and the Velvet Underground.

SIMPLY RED GREATEST HITS TOUR

On sale Friday 3rd October 9am. Simply Red have announced a greatest hits tour for the beginning of next year. The tour will showcase some of the bands biggest hits, including "If You Don't Know Me By Now", "Fairground" and "You Make Me Feel Brand New".

RUSSELL BRAND

Extra London and Glasgow dates now on sale. The ubiquitous leather-clad dandy performs his stand-up show across the country in early 2009. Russell has added extra dates in London and Glasgow.  Expect lewdness, self-depreciation, bad language and lots of laughs.

PRIEST FEAST

With JUDAS PRIEST and MEGADETH, on sale Friday 3rd October 9am.

The Priest Feast Tour hits the road next February. The line-up includes heavy metal band Megadeth, known for their distinctive guitar sound and solos, and "metal gods" Judas Priest who laid down the groundwork for the speed and thrash metal of the 80s and 90s.

RAZORLIGHT

Bristol and Wolverhampton dates on sale now. Razorlight are back once more, with gigs towards the end of the year in support of their latest album, "Slipway Fires", due to be released this November.

BASEMENT JAXX

UK house duo Basement Jaxx, comprising of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, rose to popularity in the late 1990s. The dance icons have won numerous awards and constantly reached the Top Ten with their funky, catchy, carnival house tunes.

WAR OF THE WORLDS

Sheffield date on sale Friday 3rd October 9am. The War Of The Worlds is the musical adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic novel "War Of The Worlds". In celebration of thirty years since the release of the original recording, there will be a 30th Anniversary Tour in 2009.

THE FRATELLIS

Birmingham date added. With the huge commercial success of their debut album "Costello Music", The Fratellis became a household name winning numerous awards. Their infectious and energetic music has been described as "T-Rex crossed with The Libertines".

THE HOOSIERS

Hailing from Exeter, Reading and Stockholm, the band claim to create a sound that they call "odd pop", a sound combining a number of musical genres. The band members cite their influences as The Cure, Jeff Buckley, The Flaming Lips and XTC.

FINCH

On sale Friday 3rd October 9am. Newly reformed emo-rockers Finch return to the UK in November, after this summer's performance at the Give It A Name festival, in preparation for returning to the studio to record a new album. Expect to hear some of their eagerly anticipated new material as well as the classics from "What It Is To Burn" and "Say Hello To Sunshine".

BUZZCOCKS

On sale Friday 3rd October 9am. Punk rock band Buzzcocks have announced a couple of special shows, where they'll be playing their first two classic albums - "Another Music In A Different Kitchen" and "Love Bites", along with other hits.

ALBERTA CROSS

New York based folk rockers Alberta Cross combine ethereal folk, country, rock, gospel, and blues to create an absolutely stunning sound.

FANTOMAS

Heavy metal band Fantomas will be performing their second album "The Director’s Cut" later this year. The album was a series of reinterpretations of motion picture theme songs. Some versions are loyal to the sources (such as the eerie lullaby from "The Night Of The Hunter"), while others offer radical takes on the music (such the theme from "The Godfather", tackled in part as a thrash metal song).

ISIS

Isis is a band that combines ambience, atmosphere and aggression to form a unique style of metal music. Isis draws from post-rock, which leans away from the traditional elements of choruses, verses, repetitive vocals, or fast/repetitive riffs.

THE BLACK ANGELS

The sultry neo-psychedelic sound of The Black Angels came together in spring 2004. Hailing from Austin, TX, Stephanie, Christian, Alex, Jennifer, and Nathan took their name from a Velvet Underground classic, "The Black Angel's Death Song."

CANDI STATON

London date added. There are southern soul voices and there are southern soul voices. Raw and ravaged, Candi Staton's is one of the signature sounds of the genre. Performing everything from disco to gospel to soul, with a sincerity and power few can match.

THE HOLLOWAYS

TILLY AND THE WALL

Tilly And The Wall sprang out of Omaha as a Midwestern band of like-minded friends with pockets full of melodies, and a lot of pockets. The serendipitous result of five Omaha residents with a penchant for the same classic 60s pop, boy/girl harmonies and Americana folk records, Tilly And The Wall celebrate the petulant, determined, feisty nature of youth.
