A moment in London's gay history

Ghetto and Trash Palace are to leave Soho
Trash Palace and Ghetto are to relocate to East End
"the move will mark 'the defining moment in London's gay history' "
'Soaring rents' have forced two of London's most prominent gay nightclubs to change venues.
Trash Palace and Ghetto will close in Soho this month and will reopen together on Old Street in December. The moves follow G-A-Y's relocation to Heaven nightclub in Charing Cross after it was announced that The Astoria was to be demolished.
Trash Palace's Tommy Moss said:
"We're sorry to be leaving Soho, but soaring rents and dwindling venues are really killing the heart of London."
Moss referred to the three gay areas in London that have developed in recent years: Soho, Vauxhall and the East End. He stated that Trash Palace and Ghetto will assimilate well with the east end's quirkier nature, and the move will mark 'the defining moment in London's gay history'.
Moss continued:
"Luckily London has a new exciting heart out East, where let's face it, all the best stuff happens these days."
The fact that the two venues will be sited together promises 'a bigger, funkier space' which will provide 'countless creative opportunities'.
