Brian Paddick and Amy Lamé join Stonewallââ¬â¢s annual Equality Walk in May
"Last year the walk raised more than ã35,000 for the cause to fight homophobia"
Ex-policeman and I’m a Celebrity contestant Brian Paddick and entertainer Amy Lamé will be joined by other gay and lesbian celebrities on Stonewall’s annual Equiality Walk in Brighton this May.
Taking place over the Bank holiday weekend, the 10k walk will be Stonewall’s sixth, which raises money to fight homophobia.
Last year the walk raised more than £35,000 for the cause and enabled gay equality organisation Stonewall to produce a Homophobic Hate Crime report.
The report’s findings were eventually considered by the Ministerial Action Group on Violence, which implement Stonewall’s recommendations upon Home Secretary Jacqui Smith’s recommendation.
This year Stonewall celebrates its 20th anniversary and all money from this year’s walk will go towards their highly publicised Education for All campaign, which tackles homophobic bullying in Britain’s schools.
The walk begins at Brighton’s Pavilion Gardens and registration to take part is £10, or it’s free for children under 12, accompanied by an adult.
