Top Gun star Kelly McGillis has come out as gay.
In an interview on the Shewired website, McGillis finally ended the speculation about her sexuality which has followed her throughout her career.
McGillis, who starred opposite Tom Cruise in the Top Gun movie and has been married twice, now admits that she is more into women, and is looking for a female partner. She said her life was now entering a different phase.
“I'm done with the man thing,” she told video blogger Jennifer Corday. “.I did that; I need to move on in life. That's another part of being true to yourself...that's been a challenge for me personally.”
She said that accepting her homosexuality had been an ongoing process for her from the age of twelve and that she had had things happen to her which convinced her God had been punishing her for being gay.
