Tributes pour in for star of the London scene

"Every track you've ever loved in your life, he played"

DJ Tallulah - one of London's most famous and respected DJs - has died.

Born in 1948 in Hamburg to English parents - moving to London at the age of three to live with his grandmother - he became one of the leading lights of the London gay scene, and worked tirelessly until his death.

Tributes have been pouring in.

"He was pretty much everyone's favourite DJ," said Simon Gage, celebrity journalist and editor of Boyz during its heyday. "He was pure disco - every track you've ever loved in your life, he played. It was New York 1977 transported to any London venue that brought him in."

"His style was amazing and as a true raconteur his hilarious stories always gripped you," added the Horsmeat Disco gents. "The scene and world over has lost a wonderful showman and friend."

A regular at Heaven for over 40 years, he became the first inductee into the House of Homosexual Culture's Hall of Fame in 2007.
