Gay Germany really us unlike anywhere else on the planet.
In their latest “100% GayGermany” campaign, the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) has launched a new, first-of-its-kind video competition.
Last month it invited people to upload online a short video, telling the world why they deserve to be the lucky winner of two nights’ luxury accommodation in Berlin, plus free return flights for two with Germany's number 1 airline, Lufthansa.
GNTO judges have now selected the top videos and have put them online for public voting. The video with the most votes wins the free holiday in Berlin. Those voting are also entered to win a selection of great prizes.
According to Jeanette Schuchmann, Marketing Manager for GNTO (UK), the 100% GayGermany campaign is an important one.
"Germany values all its visitors and we try to find new ways to help each visitor discover the many great reasons to visit Germany," she said. "With our 100% GayGermany online video promotion, we let our lesbian and gay visitors tell the world what it is about Germany that makes it a desirable destination to them personally.
“Voters then choose their favourite video to win a wonderful trip to Berlin. It is a fun and interactive way to engage with our audience, and we look forward very much to welcoming all our gay and lesbian guests to Germany during the coming weeks and months.
“GayGermany really is unlike anywhere else on the planet."
Lufthansa's UK General Manager, Marianne Sammann, says the airline is delighted to be part of the new 100% GayGermany campaign.
"Lufthansa takes great care to deliver the highest quality levels of service in air travel," said Ms Sammann. "This new and innovative approach to the gay travel market is in perfect synergy with Lufthansa's own approach - in striving to always continue to innovate and deliver our customers the best air travel options available."
The 100% GayGermany campaign runs until October 2008. To vote for the best video visit www.gaygermany.co.uk Full details, terms and conditions are available online.
