It’s hosted each year by a different European city and Switzerland will be welcoming EuroPride for the first time, when Zürich becomes the host city for 2009.
Over the course of a month, numerous gay and lesbian events are held with a cultural, political, scientific or sporting focus. This event is not just for gays, but also for all other residents. Many events are planned, for instance, a sports weekend with competitions and challenges in various sports held on the weekend of 30th May.
EuroPride 09 itself takes place on 6th June through Zürich city centre and the event ends on Sunday the 7th June 2009 with a typical and traditional Swiss farmer’s breakfast.
Inbetween these big highlights there are many cultural and political, as well as scientific conferences; and - not to be forgotten - the EuroPride 09 Village, set in the very heart of Zürich.
