Researchers find a link between "spirituality" and serotonin

Religious feelings may be connected to serotonin receptors say scientists

"This study is the first to link the information gathered from brain scans with a capacity for spirituality"

Swedish researchers have found that a sense of religion may be related not only to the fact that religion is drummed into children before their capacity to reject it is formed but to serotonin receptors in the brain. Spirituality, or the capacity to accept phenomena that cannot be explained objectively, is apparently dependent on the presence and effectiveness of these receptors.

Scientists have always suspected a connection between serotonin receptors and "spirituality" as drugs such as LSD are widely known to induce mystical experiences, but this study, as reported in Psychology Today and the American Journal of Psychology, is the first to link the information gathered from brain scans with a capacity for spirituality.

Basically, those people with a higher concentration of serotonin receptors will have a higher acceptance of spiritual and religious ideas. Iris Robinson is obviously firing on all cylinders!
