london pride run
The annual London Pride Run 2008 on Saturday 16th August is set to be the biggest yet.
This year 800 runners are expected to enjoy the 10 kilometre run, up from 600 competitors last year. As well as runners from the UK, entrants have been received from all over Europe and even as far afield as Australia
The annual run is organised by London Frontrunners, Britain’s largest lesbian and gay running club, and, since its inception in 2004, it has proved to be one of the friendliest and best supported races in the capital.
Backed by sponsors Merrill Lynch, the race consists of three laps within the beautiful Victoria Park in Hackney, east London. Money raised from the event will go to the Stonewall charity's Workplace Awareness Campaign.
Colin Stevenson from London Frontrunners said: "The event just gets bigger and better and we're always determined to make this a relaxed and fun event for everybody and we look forward to welcoming the runners, their families and friends to Victoria Park."
