Obama will continue to support gay rights
Michelle Obama has promised that President Obama will continue to fight for LGBT rights
The First Lady was speaking at a human rights lunch held in honour of LGBT elected officials during the Democratic Party's convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"My husband has stood strong for the basic values of freedom, justice and equality that make this country great. And he always will," she told the attendees.
"Whether it's passing hate crimes legislation or refusing to defend DOMA [the Defense Of Marriage Act]; whether it's ending 'don't ask, don't tell'
