Pistorius axed from gay "It Gets Better" campaign
Paralympian sprinter Oscar Pistorius will no longer be included in the "It Gets Better, South Africa" campaign against homophobic bullying which is to be launched later today, reports the South Africa Times.
The campaign features videos of prominent South African celebrities supporting young people being bullied on account of their sexuality.
The decision to pull Pistorius' contribution follows his arrest on Thursday 14 February over the alleged murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steencamp (pictured).
The campaign, launched three years ago in the USA, has featured videos from various high profile personalities such as Barack Obama, Lady Gaga and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
In his video Pistorius says: "Just remember that you're special. You don't have to worry. You don't have to change. Take a deep breath and remember, 'It will get better'."
