When it comes to putting on a great Pride, Blackpool rocks. In five short years it’s turned into one of the biggest, brashest and brightest Pride events in the country, and traditionally marks the start of the summer Pride season.
This year’s Pride weekend will be no exception and kicks off at 11.30am on Saturday with the Parade setting off from Saint Chad’s Headland, heading along the world-famous Golden Mile, and finishing at Cocker Square.
After that it’s down to some serious partying in the town’s gay village round Swainson Street.
Headliners on the massive main stage will include the fantastic Cheeky Girls, together with international singing sensation Kelly Wilde, and dance queen Hannah Jones.
Eighties band Tight Fit will be performing some of their greatest hits including the classic “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and Carol Jiani will be showing she’s more than just a “Hit ‘n’ Run Lover”.
Add to that some X Factor finalists and the best of North-West talent, then there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone’s taste.
