Last year’s Apprentice wannabe Howard wanted to turn Margate into a gay resort, so he won’t be complaining when the Margate seafront gets taken over by a dazzling display of rainbow flags and outrageous costumes as Pride returns to the Thanet town.
Last year more than 15,000 came to celebrate, making this one of the largest Pride celebrations in the South East outside London and Brighton. Organisers are convinced that even more will turn up this year to paint the seaside town pink in a fabulous, fun-filled and family-friendly day out.
As well as stalls and a funfair you can catch some first-rate entertainment on offer including The Pride Icons Show, with tribute acts to Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury, Abba, Karen Carpenter and George Michael.
